03 November 2009 - 15:47 CET

Warsaw, Poland, 3 November 2009 - CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, was recently selected by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to provide transport services for its helicopter parts. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Sikorsky selected CEVA to transport the first S-70iTM Black Hawk helicopter cockpit to be assembled at their facility in Poland, PZL Mielec. The shipment originated in Stratford, CT, USA and measured 390x245x105cm.

CEVA's operational experts based in New York, Paris and Warsaw worked closely together to move this sensitive load through New York and Paris airports. As part of the service, CEVA ensured verification of the offloading process and the subsequent specialist loading of the European road vehicle, as well as assisting with the necessary T1 bond customs clearance to move the cockpit to Poland.

Throughout the entire process, the local CEVA team in Warsaw tracked every movement the cockpit made, from the US origin point, including the 1600 overland kilometers from Paris to Mielec, where the cargo was successfully delivered on 1 April 2009.

At all milestones; status and progress information of this key shipment was communicated to Sikorsky via the CEVA team. The organization, planning and teamwork exhibited by CEVA teams in the US, France and Poland resulted in a flawless execution and a delighted customer.

"CEVA is delighted to have been entrusted with Sikorsky's shipments," commented Adam Chazanow, Managing Director for CEVA in Poland. "The aerospace industry is a key sector for CEVA as we seek to dynamically expand in Poland. We look forward to expanding our first-class service to further clients and would like to thank Sikorsky for their vote of confidence in us."
